Marianne died May 21, 2011, this past Saturday in Kirkland, WA with complications due to pneumonia. She was born on November 10, 1922
in Flensburg, Germany and arrived in the United States at the age of 2.
Marianne married Eric Zachrison in Seattle in 1944 later he was killed
while fighting in WWII. In 1947 Marianne married Herman “Doc” Bailes
and they resided in Redmond, WA for over 30 years, both retiring in
Moses Lake, WA. During WWII Marianne worked as a riveter in the
aircraft industry. She spent the rest of her life working by her husband’s
side, as they opened their own carton business, Stoneway Carton
Company. She is survived by her three sons, Richard E. Zachrison of
Soderhamn, Sweden, Darrell E. Bailes and wife Connie of Carnation and
Stephen Bailes of Carnation. Marianne is also survived by 4
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
