John “Pat” Mendenhall was born in Seattle, WA on August 8, 1937 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on May 28th, 2011 in Kirkland, WA. In 1968, Pat, his wife, Charleen “Jackie”, and their children moved to Duvall, where Pat and Jackie have resided since.
Pat worked at Frank’s Bakery, Buchan’s Bakery, and Langendorf Bakery before working for Lakeside Sand and Gravel and Cadman as a truck driver for 30 years. After a brief retirement, Pat decided to go back to work for Sutton Trucking. He was a teamster from 1962 to 2003 and also volunteered at the Duvall Fire Department for 16 years. Pat’s hobbies included bowling, gold, trains, baking for family and friends, working outdoors, his many animals, and especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Pat was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Stan and Gordon; and sisters-in-law Eunice, Patricia, Diane, and Linda.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years; Jackie; daughter Deborah, sons Pat Jr. and Kelly (Lynette); step-daughters Diana Reeves (Jody), Lisa Wolfe; step-sons Bill, Dennis and Mark Peterson; along with 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Pat is also survived by siblings Sue Jones (Gene), Roy, Thomas and Stephen, He is also survived by former wives, Irene Kane and Janice Hansen.
