Doris Pearl Keck, the eighth child of the family of John Keck and Magdalena Neiffer Keck's nine children. She was born on October 9, 1931 in the farmhouse in Sultan, WA. Preceding her in death were six of her siblings, Emil, Berthold, Arthur, Bertha, Hertha, and John Fredrick. She is survived by her sister Pauline Keck Langner of Whidbey Island, brother Rev. Ellis Keck of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a second mother to Pauline Langner's sons Alan, Paul, and James. Doris never married. Doris was a very caring aunt and tried to remember and care for anyone who needed her. In fact, anyone who seemed to be in need, she'd help! After graduation from high school, Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Sultan Furniture & Hardware, then when Alan Langner was in Fircrest School, she changed jobs and was a caregiver for the very severely handicapped for 25 years. She would take her nephew, Alan for outings in her car, which he dearly loved. She helped all she could to make life easier for her great niece, Teri by being there for her and her needs. For the past years Doris has been cared for by Tracey Langner and Dorise Criswell, so she could stay in her home and enjoy her independence. Doris was a very kind and patient person. A Memorial Service for her will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Startup, WA on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Her great nephew, Josh Neisinger will officiate.
MY GUIDE
I know not the way
I am going,
But well do I know my Guide!
With a childlike faith do I
give my hand
to the mighty Friend
by my side.
And the only thing that
I say to Him
As He takes it, is,
Hold it fast!
Suffer me not to lose
the way,
And lead me home at last.
