Born in Malta, MT, Dean moved to Ballard WA as a small child. He had 2 sisters and a brother; Sara, Faye and Lyle. He was employed as an iron worker with Rotta Sheet Metal in Seattle at age 18 and retired 43 years later. During this time he fought in WWII as an Army Corporal in the Military Police Unit.
Dean married Lois Miller of Duvall WA on June 27, 1952 at the Duvall Church and lived in the house that he built in Lake City. There they had 5 children. The family moved to Duvall in 1964, where Dean remained until his death.
Dean was preceded in death by his loving wife Lois in 1991 and his daughter Valerie in 2004, his brother Lyle and sister Sara.
Dean is survived by his sister Faye, his children Gary (Ruth), Byron (Marie), Melodie and Larry. Dean is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Dean loved to walk everyday on the Snoqualmie Trail in Duvall, but wished there was a bench on which to rest. In honor of him and his love of walking, the family would like to donate a bench for the trail. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in the name "DEAN GIBBS" 26307 NE Kennedy Drive, Duvall, WA 98019. Donations are for "DEAN'S " park bench along the trail.
