Ruby Catoe Hildreth, 89, of Monroe passed away on September 18, 2018. She was born on November 22, 1928 in Union County to the late J.W. “Buck” Stogner and Odessa Laney Stogner. Ruby attended Prospect High School and later, Cosmetology School in Charlotte. A longtime resident of Plyler Mill Rd., she was a hairdresser for over 50 years at Stylearama on Main St. in Monroe. Ruby was a longtime member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She was a genuine lover of animals; she thoroughly enjoyed working in her yard and garden and loved music. Ruby was fair and broad-minded, an unselfish, intelligent, strong-willed, independent and visionary woman – well ahead of her time. She did it her way! Ruby was a devoted daughter and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Ruby is predeceased by her husband, Drew Edward Catoe; daughter, Dianne Catoe Kelley and grandson, Brandy Terry. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Renee Autry; son, Sean Donovan Hildreth; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with a 2:00 Funeral Service on Saturday, September 22 at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Burial will immediately follow at the church cemetery. Ruby’s final resting place will be beside her loving parents and daughter.
Memorial donations may be given to Bethany Presbyterian Church, Pruitt Hospice or and Animal Rights Organization of the donor’s choice.
