Bob was a loving husband to his wife, Pat, who he affectionately called “Patty” and was a wonderful father to his daughter, Marie Dussinger, and a caring grandfather to his granddaughter, Mia.
He was a high ranking business executive in the field of insurance underwriting, finally retiring from Swiss Re as one of their Vice Presidents.
One of his proudest achievements was being a 26 year retired Navy Veteran who acquired the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He served in both Vietnam as well as the Afghan crisis during those years. He loved his country dearly.
In recent years, Bob was an election judge during local, state, and national elections. He served for a time on Waxhaws Board of Adjustments, and, in past years, as head of the Board of Directors for The Museum of The Waxhaws.
Bob was known to be a kind, intelligent man, who lived with honesty and integrity. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
He is predeceased by his mother, Helena Glowka Dussinger and father, Peter Dussinger. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Messere Dussinger; daughter, Marie Dussinger; granddaughter, Mia; sister, Susanna Dussinger DeCecco; nephew, Paul DeCecco; niece, Anne DeCecco; and brother-in-law, George DeCecco.
A service to celebrate his life with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at Forest Hill Church, located at 8120 Kensington Drive, Waxhaw, North Carolina.
