Robert W. Cook

Robert Wilson Cook, 83, of Indian Trail went home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Archdale, NC to the late James and Bonnie Cook. Robert was a US Army veteran and retired from the US Postal Service after 37 years of service. He was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Robert is predeceased by his bonus daughter, Tammy Rowell Williams. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Clara Rowell Cook; his daughters and families, Donna (Bart) Abernathy, Brandon (Morgan) Abernathy, Dylan Abernathy, Lisa (John) Hodgson, Garrett Hodgson and Haley Hodgson; his bonus children and families, Teresa(Mitchell) York, Cam (Brittany) York, Autumn (Jake) York and Kane York, Richie Rowell, Nicole (Matt) Flake, Alyssa, Elynn , Ryan and Elias Flake, Aaron Rowell, Morgan (DJ) Riles, Abby and Cheyenne Riles, Mallory (Elijah) Jackson, Micah and Isaac Jackson; brother, Ray (Greta) Cook and sisters, Martha Bryant and Betty Cook.

Robert’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family requests that dress is casual.

The family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 2:45 pm. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Lakeland Memorial Park.
