Born on April 6, 1944, in Monroe, North Carolina, Nancy spent her life devoted to her family while pursuing her education and a successful career. She worked as a cosmetologist for years while her children were in school. She later worked for Wingate University helping her son obtain his Bachelor’s degree. Taking advantage of the benefits at the time, Nancy attended Wingate herself part-time, eventually obtaining an Associate degree in Medical Assisting. Before retiring, Nancy worked for Carolinas Medical Center Union as Assistant Director of Environmental Services. Nancy was a woman of faith and married the love of her life, Jerry, and spent 53 years by his side until his passing in 2013.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Russell Nash (Angie), Todd Nash (Sherry), Melanie Nash (Deese), and Monte Nash. She was also loved by her six grandchildren, Meagan Ingram (Bryan), Daniel Nash and fiancé Krista, Brandon Anderson, Jeremy Nash (Haley), Vanna Rutlege (Colton), and Adam Whitten and fiancé Morgan. Nancy had nine great-grandchildren she loved dearly, Leighton, Ivy, Brooks, Neely, Colson, Brooklyn, Kayden, and two little girls on the way. She is survived by her brother, Jack Baker of Jacksonville, NC and her brother-in-law, Dennis Nash (Dottie) of Monroe, whom she loved like a son. She is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Lathan and her brother, Tim Quick, as well as her parents, Martha and Houston Quick. Of course, we could not forget Nancy’s two fur-children, Abby and Jake, whom she loved dearly. She spent most of her days with them cuddled up on her lap.
