Mrs. Mildred E. Griffin Honeycutt, 91, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Pruitt Health in Monroe. Mrs. Honeycutt was born June 2, 1924 in Union County, daughter of the late Charles Hilton and Lola Mattie Helms Elmore. She was also preceded in death by husbands Thomas Walter Griffin who died in 1984 and Arthur David Honeycutt who died in 1999. Also preceded in death by siblings; Talmadge Elmore, Edward Elmore, Charles Elmore and Willie Mae Owen.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Bible Baptist Tabernacle from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., services to celebrate her life will begin at 2:00 P.M. in the Church Sanctuary, with Reverend Bobby Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Wolfe Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters: Linda Gail Helms of Monroe, Judith Carolyn McCoy of Wesley Chapel, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 13 great- great-grandchildren, her brother; Reverend E. B. Elmore of Maiden N.C.
