Michael Jay Furr, 44, died Tuesday, August 6, 2016 at Carolina’s Health Care in Charlotte. Michael Jay was born August 11, 1972 in Union County, son of Michael Lewis Furr and the late Brenda Ann Pope Helms. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2016 from 2:00 until 2:45 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Memorial Services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, with Reverend Shad Hicks and Reverend Dallas Pressley officiating. Survivors include His Maternal Grandmother Georgia Powell, who raised Jay, his uncle Eddie Pope (Vicki) a son: Peyton Almond (mother Dawn Almond), Father and Step Mother: Michael Lewis and Becky Furr, Paternal Grandmother: Bernice Furr and 3 siblings Christopher Dobbs, Justin Furr, and Brittney Furr.
