Johnny Mitchell Starnes

Mitchell was born the son of Wildred and Jean Starnes on Friday, February 24,1956 in Monroe, NC. Mitchell married his high school sweetheart, Janet Parker Starnes on September 22,1974 at Trinity Baptist Church in Monroe. They were married for just short of 45 years, until her passing in August of 2019. Others that proceeded Mitchell in death are two of his sons, Thomas Joshua (TJ) and Casey Starnes; father Wildred Starnes and sister Kim Champion. Survivors include his son Tim Starnes and wife Julie; mother Jean Starnes; sister Kathy and husband Mike Rorie; brother Mark Starnes and wife Anne; grandchildren Ethan, Gabriel, and Joanna; and several nieces and nephews. Mitchell was an amazing husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and friend. His love and dedication for his family was immeasurable.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm - 2:00pm on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Mountain Springs Baptist Church with the Celebration of Life service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
