Johnny was born in Union County NC on June 22, 1948 and resided in Marshville NC his entire life.
Johnny retired after a very active life as a 20 year Farmer and 30 year Home Builder. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church of Marshville NC. He loved boating and fishing, drag racing, restoring old cars, buying and selling cars and was an avid western movie watcher that included his favorite actor John Wayne. He loved and watched every Gunsmoke episode approximately 10 times each, at least. He always loved having his family over for cook outs on holidays and special occasions.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents JC and Pauline “Payne” Jenkins, his wife Kathy Gaddy Jenkins and wife Betty Dennis Jenkins, his brother Dennis Guy Jenkins, his sister Polly Ann Clark, 2 daughters, Cindy Jenkins Blackmon and Jamie Jenkins Chambers as well as 1 granddaughter, Thelma Michelle Jenkins.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Thomas Jenkins of the home, sister Linda Jenkins Knight of Marshville NC, sons Dean (LeAnn) Jenkins and Doug (Skyla) Anderson both of Marshville NC. He had 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The funeral service to celebrate Johnny’s life will be held at Philadelphia Baptist Church on Saturday October 16, 2021 with open viewing beginning at 10 AM and the funeral service beginning at 11 AM. The burial service will follow immediately in the church cemetery. Due to Covid issues, the family will not receive friends prior to the service but will be available after the burial at the cemetery.
