Janet Helms Hasty, 61, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Carolinas Heath Care-Union. Janet was born July 10, 1955 in Union County, daughter of the late Richard Lee (Buck) and Myrtle (Myrt) Morris Helms, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Tommy Helms and Jim Shaw.
Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2016 from 1:30 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M. in the McEwen Colonial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter: Ashley Gay Hamby (Derek) of Charlotte, her son: Tyler Gay of Charlotte, one grandson: Jack Hamby, two sisters: Virginia (Smoky) Mangum of Monroe, Linda Shaw Rives of South Port N.C.
