Mr. James O. "Jimmy" Counts

Mr. James O. (Jimmy) Counts, 73 of Monroe, died August 15, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Counts was born July 31, 1940 in Johnson City, Tn., son of the late James C. and Regina Stewart Counts, he was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Counts in 2000. Jim was employed at City Chevrolet in Charlotte as an automobile painter for over 40 years. The family will receive friends and all those that loved and cherished Jim on Saturday evening, August 17, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Services to celebrate the life of Jim will be Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm in West Monroe Baptist Church, with Reverends David Hayes and Gary Underwood. Graveside services will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park with Reverend Al Brigman officiating. Survivors include his wife Alice, companion and love of 49 years of the home, two sons; Michael and wife Ginger of Monroe, Anthony and wife Tonya of Lancaster S.C., five grandchildren, Blake counts, Marissa Counts, Ryan Counts, Dillan Counts and Coby Counts, one brother, Ronnie and wife Christine of San Diego, Ca., three sisters. Nancy Lambert of Tampa Fl., Alice Wozny and husband John of Gilbert, AZ, Debi Counts of Clearwater Fl., step mother, Jean Counts of Clearwater Fl., Jim was much loved and respected by everyone that knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and closest friends, it was truly an honor to have known Jim Counts, and to have been a part of his magnetic personality.
