Eugene David Leonard, age 89, of Monroe, passed away on May 30, 2015. He was born on November 22, 1925 in Union County to the late Richard Carson and Mary Pearl Leonard.
Gene was a WWII ARMY Veteran in the 36th Tank Battalion and was an avid radio control airplane builder and flyer.
He is survived by his two sons, Eddie E. Leonard (Glenda) and Wayne L. Leonard (Pam); brother, Henry Carson Leonard; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 1, 2015 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A funeral service for Mr. Leonard will be held 10:00am Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park with military honors.
