Emma Bolt Thomas Silcox Sikes, 84, of Wadesboro North Carolina was awarded her status as one of Gods Angels on June 28th, 2017. She finally achieved peace in her life following a 5 year struggle with dementia.
Mrs. Sikes was a loving and active great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, wife, sister, and daughter. She was a committed home maker and role model within her family. Emma loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a high school athlete, competing on the Burnsville High School basketball team; she was also an accomplished bowler and bird admirer. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Aiken South Carolina. Mrs. Sikes was actively involved in the communities of Dexter, Michigan, Aiken, South Carolina, and Wadesboro, North Carolina.
Emma is preceded in heaven by her son John Michael Silcox, her brother Charles Dwight Thomas, her sister Kathryne Sue Thomas Hargette, her first husband Robert Thomas Silcox, and her late husband Richmond Lee Sikes. She is survived by her sister Mary Alice Page (Jay) of Monroe North Carolina, daughter Sandra Lynn Silcox Braun Carter of Sparta Tennessee, grandchildren Michele Renee Braun Ashley (Josh) of Sparta Tennessee, Robert Duane Braun (Tricia) of Vass, North Carolina, John Micheal Braun (Jenny) of Nashville Tennessee, Travis James Carter (Chevy) of Sparta Tennessee, and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 11:00AM, July 2nd, 2017, at McEwen Funeral Home in Monroe, North Carolina. She will be laid to rest at Lakeland Memorial Park.
