Elinor Anne Faulkner

Elinor Anne Faulkner, age 88, of Monroe, formerly of Alliance, OH, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born in Canton, OH, daughter of the late John and Gertrude Aten. Elinor served in the United States Marine Corps as a War Time Veteran of the North Korean War where she was honorably discharged as PFC. Elinor was a faithful member of Secrest Grove Baptist Church and was a long-time volunteer for the community.

Elinor was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Glenn Faulkner; and her two brothers, Eugene and Roger Aten.

She is survived by her daughter, Gertrude “Trudy” Canup and husband, Ken; grandson, Kenneth “K.C.” Canup.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, August 6, 2017 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Secrest Grove Baptist Church, 4505 Weddington Road, Monroe, NC. A service to celebrate Mrs. Faulkner's life will be at 3:00pm with military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Turning Point, PO Box 952, Monroe, NC.
