William Suda, 72, of Monroe, CT died suddenly on Wednesday March 6th at his home. Bill was born in Queens, NY to Joseph and Rose Suda. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Catherine. He is also survived by his two daughters, Cathy Suda and her fiancé Dan Audet, and Christine DiOrio and her husband Gary DiOrio, and his granddaughter Ariella. Other survivors include his brother George Suda and his wife Marilyn, nieces Kim and Jody Suda all from North Carolina, and nephew Jim Suda from Ohio. Bill graduated from Columbia University in 1962 with a degree in Economics and worked for The Equitable in Manhattan for more than 35 years. Bill will be sorely missed by all who knew him. His wit and sense of humor is something we will all never forget. Spending time with his granddaughter, Ariella, brought him great joy in his later years. Bill always enjoyed spending time on his boat and fishing. He also was an avid reader, who could finish a book a day. Many family vacations were spent near or on the water in Greenport, Long Island. Bill worked long hours in his younger days, but spent every spare moment with his family. He was the Dad who took all the kids in the neighborhood sledding in the winter and swam in the pool with the kids in the summer. Every action he made was for his family. We are devastated by this loss. Friends and Family may call on Thursday, March 14, 2013 between 5 and 7 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM at Spaddacino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Tpke, Monroe, CT. There will be a private burial on Friday. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.spadaccinofuneralhome.com
