He was born in Bridgeport CT, son of Robert and Wilma Painter. He graduated from Masuk HS where he played Hockey and Football. He was also a member of the Stepney Volunteer Fire Dept. Robert attended SCSU where he studied Computer Science. In 2005, after completing NYS Fire academy, he went to work at E63 L39 in the Bronx. He went on to join the FDNY Incident Management team.
During his 17 years on the job, he assisted with the wildfires in California and was dispatched to Puerto Rico for incident management where he also assisted with dog rescue. Robert also participated in many cooking competitions with other firefighters which he thoroughly enjoyed.
He is survived by his parents, his son Alexander, brother Mark, several aunts, uncles and cousins and his loyal friend Janine. He was predeceased by his beloved malamutes, Cedar and Chloe.
The family will have a private funeral ceremony. Friends are invited to calling hours on Monday December 5, 2022 between the hours of 4pm-8pm.
