

Robert H. Lewis 3rd, age 77, beloved husband of Ruth Lewis, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his caring family on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Born in Bridgeport on March 30, 1938 to the late Robert and Eleanor (Tingley) Lewis, he was a lifetime resident of Stepney and Bob took great pride in the fact that his entire family was a stone’s throw away. Bob worked at Sippin Bros. Oil Company for 20 years and then at Santa Fuel until his retirement in 2003. A lifetime member of the Stepney Volunteer Fire Department, Bob loved sports and was a fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and wouldn’t miss watching a UConn Women’s Basketball game. Bob spent many years of his life serving the Lord through Tres Dias of Fairfield County, the Bridgeport Rescue Mission and Kairos Prison Ministry. He loved bringing God’s Word and message of love and hope to the incarcerated. In his later years, Bob enjoyed taking leisurely rides with the love of his life, Ruth. In addition to his wife of 60 years, survivors include his three loving children, Gail Lent (Thomas) and Joan Cisneros (Charlie) of Monroe, and Robert Lewis 4th of Bridgeport; a sister Diane Lewis of Naugatuck and two brothers Tracy Lewis and Craig Lewis (Bernadette) of Monroe. He is also survived by his pride and joy - 6 special grandchildren, Amy Habboush (Kuthair), Jackie Mondo (Jimmy), Jesse Lent (Christina), Kimberly Marra (Gaetano), Kyle Lent, and Charlie Cisneros (Dorinda); and 9 cherished great-grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Abbie, James, Lily, Peyton, Mason, Luke and Morgan; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will take place on Monday, March 28th from 4-8 pm, with a prayer service beginning at 7 pm, at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe. A memorial service to remember Bob will be held Tuesday, March 29th at 11:00 am at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 498 White Plains Road in Trumbull. Interment will be at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Easton.
