She was born in Elmira, New York, to Caroline and Leslie Legg on July 6th, 1940. She earned her teaching degree from the State University of NY at Plattsburgh. Nancy had an active and fulfilling life, raising three children in Long Island, NY, teaching elementary school and working as a librarian.
She loved being around kids, especially her grandkids, whom she called her “little people.” She spent lots of time babysitting her 8 grandchildren. Nancy was artistic and creative, and loved arts and crafts. Gardening was also one of her favorite pastimes. She loved dogs and had many throughout her lifetime. She was a great mom, always having a steady and active presence in her kids and grandkids lives. Nancy was a good soul taken away too soon. We all deeply miss her.
Nancy is survived by her three children, Thomas, Jamie and Timothy, and her 8 grandchildren (Courtney, Kaitlin, Shawn, Charlotte, Seamus, Fiona, Nora and Caelie), and her two great-grandchildren (Charlie and Grant). A private family service will be held.
