Mia was born to her mother, Lisa, and her father, Nick, on September 6th, 2020. She lived her beautiful and far too short life in Milford, CT. Mia was everyone’s favorite friend at the Milford Co-op, the preschool she attended and could always be found in the very best dress up outfits. She was a true girly-girl at her core and had a sense for fashion from the day she was born. There was no such thing as too many accessories. Her nails were always painted with bright colors and throughout treatment, her wigs, hats and headband collection were always styled just right. Mia was happiest drinking a Starbucks refresher and aimlessly roaming the aisles at Target with Mom or cuddling and watching her favorite movie with Dad. She never turned down a craft, especially if it involved paint, and she loved a morning filled with fuzzy blankets and cartoons. She was Disney obsessed and could name any character and sing every song to perfection. Mia loved to sing and dance with her Grandma Jackie to their favorite songs in the kitchen and on weekends she looked forward to her sleepovers with Grandma and Pop Pop. She loved Sunday dinners at her Aunt's house filled with playtime with her cousins. Mia spent a lot of time at the park across the street with her brother and sister (the “crazies”, as she liked to call them) and her many friends . Her unwavering love for unicorns, rainbows and glitter made sense, because she was filled with pure magic and sparkle. Mia was a social butterfly and brought immeasurable joy into everyone’s life around her. She could light up even the darkest days with one look into her big beautiful brown eyes.
Mia is survived by her adoring parents, Lisa Fino and Nick Morse, her younger siblings Gio and Ava; her maternal grandparents, Millie and Jim Fino; her paternal grandmother Jackie Morse; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
In Mia’s honor, a foundation will be established to provide children with the opportunity to choose a fun Band-Aid to make their hospital visits a little brighter. We ask for your help to start our stash by bringing a box of your favorite fun band aids to either service! Throughout treatment Mia brought her own band aids to hospital visits and it made all her ouchies just a little less ouchie.
All of Mia's Nurses, Doctors, Claire, Stephanie and all of child life, Kristen and Olivia, thank you for loving and looking after not only Mia but us during our time at Yale.
Friends and family are invited to attend the wake on Friday March 28th, at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe Ct, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29th at Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 168-176 S Broad St, Milford CT, at 11am.
