Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of Steven A. Krivi and Margaret (Toth) Krivi of Fairfield, CT. She was an alumna of Roger Ludlowe High School, the University School, and attended Sacred Heart University. Before becoming a mother, she was employed at Connecticut National Bank of Fairfield.
Karen was a woman of faith and a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Emery’s Parish in Fairfield, and later attended both Notre Dame of Easton and St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Church of Fairfield. She was an accomplished bowler, dancer, fashionista, avid bird watcher and nature lover. She was very fond of her trips to Vermont and enjoyed leaf peeping each fall. She looked forward to gathering with family and friends whenever she could, especially during the holidays. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, celebrating the Lord and giving to others brought her true joy. She will be remembered most for her heart of gold…her thoughtfulness, kindness, selflessness, empathy, gratitude, devotion to family, dry sense of humor, and sparkling smile. She will also be missed by her beloved dog Buddy. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her two loving children, Nika and Artie, with whom she beamed with pride. She had a very special connection with cherished Granddaughters Maren and Autumn, who she doted on and were her world. Karen was charismatic, everyone she met loved her, and many feel blessed and privileged to have known her. To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband Arthur William Dugas, Jr., sharing 51 years of marriage, daughter Veronica Ann Bournival and son-in-law Scott Bournival of Watertown, son Arthur William Dugas III and daughter-in-law Andrea Marie Dugas of Fairfield, Granddaughters Maren Margaret Iseppi and Autumn Noel Dugas.
Friends and family are invited to calling hours Wednesday, November 2nd, from 4:30 pm-7:00 pm at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468. Funeral Service will be private. A joyous celebration of Karen’s life will be announced soon and will be held at a later date.
