Lucia (Paniccia) Marini of Bridgeport, beloved wife of 64 years to the late Armando Marini entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 25, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Torrice, Italy on August 25, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Rosa (Marini) Paniccia. Lucia immigrated to the United States in 1956. She was an avid cook and gardener. Her greatest joy was having her children, grandchildren, family and friends sitting around the kitchen table with a continuous generosity of making sure everyone was completely satisfied with food and drink. Her hobbies included baking, sewing and making homemade pastas, wine and canning vegetables from the abundant crops she harvested from her large garden. Survivors include her beloved children, Mario and Sharon Marini of Trumbull, Luisa and Ettore Altobelli of Trumbull, Bernardino Marini of Bridgeport, Lucy and Richard LaFrenierre of Trumbull, and Anthony Marini of Trumbull. Grandchildren, Michael and Maria Altobelli of Shelton, Angelo and Theresa Altobelli of Trumbull, Anthony and Diana Altobelli of West Haven, Alyssa LaFrenierre and Joseph LaFrenierre of Trumbull. Great-Grandchildren Siena Altobelli and Aviana Altobelli of Trumbull. Brothers and sister include Pasquale Paniccia of Torrice, Italy, Giovanni and Domenica Paniccia of Bridgeport, Elena Savone of Anagni, Italy, Francesco and Enrica Paniccia of Yonkers, NY, and sister-in-law Settimia Marini of Surrey, BC, Canada. And many nieces and nephews. Lucia was predeceased by her brother, Sebastiano Paniccia of Albano, Italy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 30th at 11:00 AM in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church 5301 Main Street, Trumbull. Intombment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery 2205 Stratford Avenue, Stratford. Friends may call Wednesday, January 29th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Spadaccino and Leo P.
