Katherine (Kitty) Tavella Taylor, age 83, passed away on October 15, after a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. Kitty was born on June 11, 1930 in Norwalk to Joseph and Ada Tavella. She grew up in Monroe, where she attended Monroe Elementary School and later Bassick High School in Bridgeport. It was then that she met Jesse Taylor, her loving husband of 63 years. In addition to her husband, Kitty is survived by her brother Roger Tavella, and her loving daughters Kathleen Taylor Root of Lebanon, IL; Barbara Taylor Koziel and her husband Ed of Milford; and Jo-Ann Taylor Chieffalo and her husband Franco of Norwalk. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, Jennifer Chieffalo Burkhalter and her husband Chris; Trish Chieffalo and Andrea Chieffalo. Friends and family may call on October 20, between the hours of 3pm and 6pm at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT. Interment will be private.
