He is survived by his children Laurie DeCredico (Daughter) and Daniel Cenatempo (Son) and his sister Angie Breny. He had four grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew who all enjoyed spending time with him.
Born and raised in Norwalk CT, he was the son of Assunta and Giovanni Cenatiempo and was a lifelong resident of Connecticut.
After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1943, he served in the United States Navy during World War II as Yeoman 2nd Class and was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended the University of Maryland and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Upon returning to his hometown in Norwalk CT, he was active in the community selling real estate and serving as a councilman during the 1950s.
Later in life, Joseph practiced as a CPA in Westport, CT until he was 70 years old and retired as a member of The Connecticut CSCPA’s Association.
He enjoyed fine dining and traveling throughout Europe and the United States with his late wife of 60 years Angela Gallucci Cenatempo. He was an avid sports fan and traveled to Florida for many years for spring training. He pursued his interest in music until the end of his life teaching himself to play guitar and enjoying listening to the music of his era.
A memorial service will be held from 2-4 pm on January 13, 2024, at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Monroe CT. Navy military honors will be rendered at 3 pm.
