John S. Falzone, 88, of Stratford, formerly of Stamford, husband of the late Theresa Panetta Falzone, died Thursday March 3rd at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Home. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 14, 1927, he was the son of the late Biagio and Maria Foti Falzone and had been a long time Stamford resident prior to moving to Stratford in 2001. John was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy. After his service to our country John returned home to become a meat cutter under Local 371 working many years with Food Fair. John is survived by two sons; John A. Falzone and his wife Patti and Thomas W. Falzone and his wife Terri, six grandchildren; Betty, Michael, Paul, Kaitlin, Lynda and Tommy, a great grandchild and a longtime friend Vivian Panchio. In addition to his wife Theresa, John was predeceased by a son Charles Falzone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday March 7th at 11:00 AM at St. Cecelia Church 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery Rock Rimmon Road Stamford. Visiting hours will be held Sunday March 6th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street Stamford. In Lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to a charity of choice.
