Jeff delighted in making people laugh and was known for his legendary pranks, which started in childhood and lasted throughout his lifetime.
Jeff had close friends and loved telling stories about experiences throughout his academic journey: Tabor Academy in Marion, MA; Duke University in Durham, NC where he was a proud brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity; and the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
In addition to his many professional accomplishments as a finance executive and business leader, Jeff loved cooking and entertaining, playing games of strategy, beating people at trivia, driving vintage cars, traveling the world, and all things Elvis.
Less known, but no less special, was Jeff’s generosity of spirit, which quietly fueled his relationships and impacted his wider community. He valued his family, poured himself into his many friendships, loved being a dad, and was so excited at the prospect of becoming a “grandpappy.” Those who love him feel his loss deeply — and feel deeply blessed to have been a part of his life.
Jeff is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jennifer Stanley and Patrick Demko of West Dennis, MA; his daughter and son-in-law, Brianna and Dillon Misner of Douglasville, GA; his fiancée Crystal White of Ansonia, CT; stepmother Kathy Beard Wylie and her husband Ron; and siblings Randy Stanley of Bellingham, MA, Jason Stanley of Brooklyn, NY, Jaime Stanley of Cincinnati, OH, Sarah Clark and Katie Nichols of Lexington, KY, Rebecca Cerullo of Boston, MA, and Maxine Demko of Nyack, NY. He is predeceased by his father, Frederick Beard of West Carrollton, OH, and stepfather James R. Stanley, of Old Lyme, CT.
The family is grateful to Yale Pathology and the School of Medicine for their integrity during the post-mortem process, honoring Jeff’s wishes for his body to be used in furthering medical research.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Please check back for more information
