Jeanette Marie Fortunato, 85, of Windsor Locks, wife of the late, Louis Joseph Fortunato, died peacefully Saturday August 3rd at West Hartford Health and Rehabilitation Center, in West Hartford. Born in Hartford on December 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Catherine Benway LaRoche and had been a Windsor Locks resident for over sixty years. Prior to her retirement Jeanette worked as a seamstress for many years. Jeanette had a flare for interior decoration and was also an accomplished Ball Room Dance Instructor. In addition to her dancing skills Jeanette loved singing and enjoyed listening to all types of music. Jeanette was multi-talented, free with her time and resources and worked painstakingly hard. She was one of twelve children who valued spending time with her family. She is survived by a son, Domenick Fortunato of Enfield; three daughters, Antoinette M. (Robert) Pequita of Windsor Locks; Lucille Fazzina of Broadbrook and Jeanette M. (Joseph) Singer of Norwalk; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Louis and all eleven siblings, Jeanette was predeceased by a special son in law Salvatore Fazzina. Funeral Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are in care of the Spadaccino and Leo P.
