Donna Jane Miller, age 57 of Monroe, peacefully entered into eternal rest, at her home, on November 27, 2014. After three and half years of courageously battling Lung Cancer, she has rejoined her late parents, Thomas and Annabelle Miller to look over us all. Donna was an incredible mother, loving sister, and phenomenal friend to all that knew her! She is survived by her beloved son Julio Jenks, his wife Gwynne, and their two beautiful daughters; Becca and Julia. Donna is also survived by her strong daughters Jennifer Palmieri and Tracy Plessis along with their husbands Michael Palmieri and Joshua Roberts. Donna also leaves behind her adored brothers, womb-mate Donald Miller and his wonderful wife Lynn, along with her big brother Thomas Miller and his fantastic wife Joyce. Donna enjoyed many outdoor activities; such as gardening, horseback riding, and anything to do with animals. She supported the town of Monroe for over 30 years as a bus driver, dispatcher, manager, and a liaison to the Board of Ed Transportation department. Donna was always very thankful to her medical teams, at both Bridgeport Hospital (Floor 7 Oncology) and Trumbull Smilow; through the exceptional care of Dr. Robert Follman. The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff from VNS of Trumbull for their compassion and constant care around the clock to keep Donna comfortable at home. The memorial service for Donna is scheduled for the spring of 2015; it will begin at the United Methodist Church in Monroe, CT and be followed by a Tequila Sunrise Picnic. (Details to follow). In lieu of flowers, Donna’s wishes were to have donations made to either Trumbull Smilow or Floor 7 Oncology of Bridgeport Hospital in her name; in hopes of helping others fight like she did! In Donna’s own words, “CANCER SUCKS!”
