Dominick George Ferrara, 95, of Monroe, CT, passed away peacefully in his home on July 31, 2023. He was born on April 28,1928 in New Rochelle, New York, and was a resident of Eastchester, New York, from 1956 to 1991.
Dominick is survived by his loving children Ellen Ferrara of Monroe, CT, Nancy Pompa and her husband Richard of Oxford, CT, and Thomas Ferrara and his wife Kathleen of Milford, CT. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Lindsay Ferrara and her husband Daniel Renstrom, Danielle Carleton and her husband Patrick, and Richard Pompa and his wife Nicole. Dominick also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren Lucy Renstrom, Thomas Renstrom, Reagan Carleton, Carson Pompa, Cameron Pompa, and Ryan Carleton.
Dominick was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn Ferrara, as well as his parents Dominic and Lucy Ferrara.
After completing his higher education at Iona College in 1948, Dominick served for three years as a Seargent in the U.S. Army. He then went on to have a successful career as the Vice President of Internal Auditing for the J. Walter Thompson Company, N.Y., N.Y.
Dominick worshipped at St. Stephen Church. He was an active member of the community, serving as a Past Grand Knight of the Monroe Council Knights of Columbus and a Past District Deputy of the Knights of Columbus. Dominick also dedicated 25 years of his life as a volunteer Paired Reader at Monroe Elementary School. In his free time, he enjoyed sports and playing golf in the Milford Senior Men's Golf League.
Services for Dominick will be held on August 5th at the Spadaccino & Gallagher Funeral Home, located at 315 Monroe Turnpike in Monroe, CT. Visitation will take place from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A funeral mass will follow at 10 AM at St. Stephen Church, located at 6948 Main Street in Trumbull, CT.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, located at 275 Union Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06607.
Dominick George Ferrara will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his community involvement, and his love for sports and golf. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
