Diane was born on July 17, 1933 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Augusta (Ruggeri) and Angelo Perocchi. She grew up and lived in Pennsylvania until she met and married her husband, Isidore, in 1955. They moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut where she raised her two children and was a wonderful mother who was always there for her family.
She worked as a seamstress for Warner Brothers Corset Factory, for General Electric on the assembly line for their small appliance division, and as a pharmacy technician at Bridgeport Hospital. Following her retirement, she moved to Acworth, Georgia in 2000 with her sister Mary.
Known for her strong faith and love of family, Diane will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She lived a simple life with her faith in the forefront and spent many of her hours dedicating her life to the Lord by singing in the choir, serving as a Eucharistic minister, and volunteering at her local church. Later in life she enjoyed making rosaries and helping clean the church. She was also active in her local senior center. Her favorite pastime activities were watching Hallmark movies and doing word searches.
Diane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her children Michael Vallecoccia and his wife Josephine of Acworth, GA; and Terrie D’Ausilio and her husband David of Stratford, CT. She adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom will dearly miss her including grandchildren Christopher D’Ausilio, Cori Anderson, Michael and Daniel Vallecoccia; and great-grandchildren, James, Caleb and Isaac Anderson, and Benjamin and Zachary D’Ausilio. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Isidore; her brother Armand Perocchi and her sisters Josephine Melli, Lucy DeAngelis, and Mary Petrusewski.
Diane’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.
