Born in Port Chester NY, Cheryl was the daughter of Bernard and Rose Marie Crouch. She attended Port Chester High School where she was a baton majorette and studied to become a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She graduated in 1965 and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital for 3 years as a C.N.A. She was married in 1968 to her loving husband. She then became a mother and took the opportunity to be a stay at home mom. She transitioned into Private Duty Nursing and was a caregiver for many years. She was such a nurturing woman and took pride in taking care of so many patients and always became part of their families.
After her grandson was born, Cheryl stopped working and cared for him for the first 2 years of his life and cherished every second of it. She loved telling him stories as an adult and how she used to rub cream on his little feet. In the last several months, he took care of her and was dedicated to her every need. She loved her family more than anything. When her mother was diagnosed with cancer she was by her side until she passed on. When her father was diagnosed with dementia she spent every moment she could with him. She was a dedicated daughter and put her heart into it as long as she could. Her caring ways were noble and well done. She had an infectious way of giving about her with no expectations and was a power of example to many.
Cheryl is survived by her daughter Erica Schulz Taylor (fiance David Dimatteo), grandson Dallas Taylor and granddaughter Brooklyn DiMatteo, son Kurt A. Schulz, sister Dawn Onufrik (husband Kurt Onufrik), nephew Zachary Onufrik, nephew/godson Bryan Crouch, niece Michelle Ducie (husband Kevin), great niece’s Hannah and Clara and sister in law Debbie Crouch. In addition to her dedicated husband of 53 years, Arthur E. Schulz, Cheryl was predeceased by her brother William (Bill) Crouch.
