Beatrice Hawley Andrews, age 89, of Monroe, beloved wife of the late Lewis D. Andrews, died Thursday July 12th 2012 at her home. Mrs. Andrews was born on November 25, 1922 in Monroe, the daughter of Bradford and Fanny Hawley. She lived her entire life on Cutlers Farm Road, in Monroe. She was married in April 1942. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Monroe. Mrs. Andrews was chairwoman of the Republican Town Committee in Monroe for 20 years and was very active in the community and civic groups. She was the second woman admitted to the NY Stock Exchange and worked as a stock broker in Bridgeport until her retirement. She is survived by her devoted children, Lewis D. Andrews, Jr. and his wife, Christina, of Alexandria, VA and Betsy Galian of Cheshire. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Rebecca Galian, Jeffrey Galian, Mary Andrews Herbert and William Andrews and great grandchildren Katie and William Herbert. Also her two sisters, Julia Hawley Blauvelt of Portland, CT and Fay Hawley Hillman of Standish, ME. A special thank you to all of her health aides for the wonderful care and assistance, especially her devoted, loving granddaughter Becky. A funeral Service will be held Monday July 16th at 1:00 PM in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, on the Green in Monroe. Interment will follow in Cutlers Farm Cemetery in Monroe.
