Anne Marie Wheeler (née Hines) passed away peacefully on June 25, 2015 in Huntington, CT at the age of 87. Anne is survived by her loving husband, Clifford; adored children, Kathleen Palmesi of Huntington & Anthony Quaranta Jr. of West Haven, Dennis Wheeler of Ansonia, and Linda Houle & her husband Gilles of Florida; brother, James Hines and his wife Mary, and sisters, Mary Hines and Rita Scully and her husband Bill of Massachusetts; grandchildren Robert Russo Jr. & his wife Michelle, Stacey LaRiccia, David Houle & his wife Katie, Brian Wheeler, Ryan LaRiccia & his wife Nicola, Caitlin Wheeler, Daniel Houle, KariAnn Martinez & her husband Xavier, Eric Major Jr., Christopher Houle, and Silverio Palmesi Jr.; great-grandchildren Kaila Arnold, Christopher Arnold Jr., Jacob LaRiccia, Scott Hanson, Jesse Rodgerson, Xavier Martinez Jr., Olivia LaRiccia, Alexa Martinez, & Julia LaRiccia; as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews; and cousins in Ireland. She is preceded in death by her brother John Hines, son-in-laws Michael LaRiccia & Silverio Palmesi Sr., and daughter-in-law Jill Wheeler. Anne was born on July 11, 1927 in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. She was the daughter of Michael Hines & Nora Corcoran Hines. She was predeceased by her mother Catherine (née O’Connell) Hines as an infant. Anne moved from Ireland to Massachusetts when she was four years old. She grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts. While working at the Sheraton Hotel, she met Clifford. They later married on September 12, 1953 at St. Peter’s Church in Worcester, Massachusetts. Shortly after, Anne & Cliff made their home Bridgeport, CT and raised their three children, Kathy, Dennis, & Linda there before moving to Ansonia in 1972. Anne and Cliff lived in Ansonia before retiring to New Port Richey, Florida in 1994. Anne and Cliff returned to Connecticut in 2013 to live with their daughter Kathy in Huntington. Anne was a wonderful, loving mother to her three children, and warm, loving Nana to her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, whom she adored with her whole heart. Anne and Cliff enjoyed camping in the Berkshires and bringing their grandchildren with them. Anne created a loving bond with Kathy’s dog, Gizmo, who loved sitting with and taking care of his Nana. A wake is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home in Monroe, CT. A funeral is scheduled on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10 a.m. beginning at the funeral home with interment to follow at Mount Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Derby, CT.
