Mrs. Wilma Anne Rockwell Bearden, age 85 of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was born at home in Fairhope, Alabama in 1936. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Sarah McDonald and Margaret Cole, her children, William Douglas Bearden, III and Laura Bearden Dorr. She is also preceded in death by her parents Owen and Amy Cloud Rockwell.
Mrs. Bearden’s activities were diverse. She served as a cub scout den mother and “pink lady” volunteer at Mobile Infirmary. She enjoyed her bridge club and supper group at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member. She also enjoyed teaching microwave cooking classes and loved family gatherings. Cooking and entertaining were her specialty.
Mrs. Bearden is survived by her husband of 66 years, Douglas, sons; Ronnie Bearden and James Bearden, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Precht of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow services in Magnolia Cemetery.
