William F. Rountree Jr., passed away Sunday, May 8 2022. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, Mr. Rountree lived most of his life in Mobile. Sergeant First Class Rountree was an Army Infantry Operations & Intelligence Specialist during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal AR 600-65.
Bill, as he preferred to be called, started Rountree Advertising & Graphics where he worked until retirement. He also worked part-time at Walmart.
Mr. Rountree is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia (Pat) Ray Rountree, of Mobile, daughter
Sherrill (Sherry) Rountree Bramlett of Mobile, son William Ray Rountree, daughter-in-law Cherry Marler Rountree both of Brandon, MS., granddaughter, Amanda Bramlett Synowsky (James Stephen Synowsky) of Decatur, GA and four grandsons William Justin Rountree (Heather Langan Rountree), Ross Eugene Rountree (Morgan Avery Rountree) all of Mobile, William Townsend Rountree and John Holleman Rountree both of Brandon, MS. There are also 5 lovely great granddaughters.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mr. Rountree will be laid to rest at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Spanish Fort at 2:30 p.m.
