William Benford “Ben” Manning, age 84, a resident of Mobile, AL, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 28, 2020. He was born in Semmes, AL, on October 20,1935. Ben worked as a division manager at Scott Paper Company of Mobile until his retirement in 1994.
Ben is survived by his loving wife Faye M. Manning; daughter, Genia (Nick) MacDonald, son, Michael (Jennifer) Ikner of Mobile, AL, daughters, Libby Manning of Miami Springs, FL, Susan (Jeff) Thomas of Miami, FL, and son, Doug (Kim) Manning of Murfreesboro, TN. Grandchildren, Anna MacDonald, Hunter Ikner, and Pearson Ikner of Mobile, AL, Guy Manning of Miami Springs, FL, Ashley (Doug) Dickson of Long Island, NY, Dana (Trey) Butler of El Paso, TX, Jessie Manning and Sarah Manning of Murfreesboro, TN. Sisters, Barbara Collins of Daleville, AL, and Bonnie Duncan of Hurley, MS. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents Ophelia Shumock Manning, William Cecil Manning, stepmother, Jessie Lee Manning, and brother Alvin Manning.
A celebration of life for "Ben" will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Luke 4:18 Fellowship, 2664 Sollie Rd, Mobile, Alabama 36695 with private interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joshua Fund at Luke 4:18 Fellowship, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
