Wilbrod Rodolphe Brule’, Jr., born February 13, 1933 in Walpole, Massachusetts and a longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away calmly, after a long battle with dementia, on June 20, 2020, in Pensacola, Florida.
Rudy, as he was known by family and friends, attended North Eastern University in Boston, Massachusetts before entering the US Armed Forces, where he served as a Naval Cadet and a Marine Pilot, instructing formation flying. While stationed in Pensacola, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann Beverly, on a blind date. Rudy worked at IBM for 30 years and had many interests and hobbies. He believed in family first and treating everyone with respect. He loved water and spent time boating, skiing, shrimping, fishing and scuba diving. He raised bees, enjoyed gardening and genuinely loved preserving nature and wildlife. After retirement, Rudy volunteered at the Red Cross and Mobile Infirmary. He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes, learned to sail and, of course, kept active with Mary Ann's "honey-do" list. He was a great handyman, able to build, fix and do just about anything. Rudy was highly respected by all who knew him.
Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Wilbrod Rodolphe Brule’, Sr. and Doris Viola Marston Brule’, and nephew, Karl Senecal. Rudy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Beverly Brule’; son, Steven Agee Brule’, Sr. (Cyndie); daughter, Susan Viola Brule’ (Jay); grandson, Steven Agee Brule’, Jr.; great-grandson, Sawyer Matthew Brule’; sister, Doris Louise Senecal; nephews, Kevin Senecal and Kenneth Senecal; and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Monday, June 29, 2020, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
