Vivian Lucille Burns, 95, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Grand Bay, Alabama. She was born to Henry and Armenia Scarcliff on October 5, 1925. Vivian was an accomplished pianist, having played at several churches throughout the Mobile area. She also sang with a Mobile choral group. Vivian’s life work, however, was collecting and writing about genealogy – not only her own, but for those around her. She was a very well read woman, and enjoyed reading anything she could learn from.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Rowell Burns; son, Andrew Stephen Burns; parents; and three brothers, Aubrey Henry Scarcliff, Frederick Madison Scarcliff, and Marion Douglas Scarcliff.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Aubrey Vaughn Scarcliff, Francis Scarcliff (Patricia), Beverly S. Holladay (William Jr.), Joyce Dee Scarcliff Pitts, and Donald DeWayne Scarcliff.
A graveside service for Vivian will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 1 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
