Victor McClendon Davis born September 4,1934 in Mexboro, Alabama, to William D. And Connie Johnson Davis died Sunday, April 6, at Fair Haven Methodist Home. He was preceded in death by two brothers, sister, son and grandson.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ina Beth Anderson Davis. Brother, Rayford F.(Jone) Davis, son, James V.(Delinda)Davis, three daughters, Alice Davis Mixon(Michael), Beth Davis Moore(Scott), and Amy Davis Lee(Rob), nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces,nephews, and other relatives also survive him.
Victor was a graduate of the University of Alabama, attended New York University and Columbia University. Mr. Davis served his country honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard where he achieved the rank of Full Lieutenant. He was employed by West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company, James River Pulp and Paper, and retired from International Paper Company.
Mr. Davis was active in Methodist churches including 45 yrs. at Chickasaw Methodist Church and was currently a member of Alabaster First United Methodist. He always taught Sunday School wherever he was.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, at Pinecrest Funeral Home, Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, Alabama, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery immediately following visitation.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be offered to Alabaster First United Methodist Church, Chickasaw Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
