Aunt Betty, I can't tell you how much I've thought of you all since Uncle Tommy's passing.  Hope you have felt the love and prayers.  I have so many wonderful memories.  He was the same generous and gentle soul even when he was a very young man.  He loved all of his nieces and nephews and never minded hauling us around and entertaining us.  We had so much fun.  I remember when he left for Vietnam.  We were pen pals.  He brought me back a necklace and a beautiful Vietnamese dress.  Wish I could have seen him once more   but I will see him one day.

I am are very sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Tom. But his memories will always be with me. He was very special, and he will always have a special place in my memories of working with him in Kentucky. He was a wonderful human being. May he rest in peace.

Aloha and deepest regards to the Harlan clan during this difficult time.  I'll celebrate Tom's transition by remembering the many good times we shared over the years; frequent gut-busting laughter in the office(s); stinking up the Pensacola Hampton Inn so bad with our PA Staff shrimp boil that we had to move across to the Homewood Suites where, not long after, we staged that never-to-be-forgotten crab boil; 25 cent oyster nites at The Dock; social times at the Biloxi Legacy Condos Community Hall and warm Thanksgivings away from home with the Harlans.  Good memories, good family, good friends, good life, good man Tom Harlan.

I had the privilege of meeting and working with Tom in Kentucky. He was one of the most gentle, kind spirited men I have ever met. I was deeply saddened when I heard of his passing. I know that this is a trying time for the family, but know that he is no longer suffering.

I was so very sad to hear about Tom passing. I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Tom in Iowa. Tom was a mentor to me and I considered him a good friend. Uncle Tom was my favorite Uncle.  He was a fine man - just a wonderful, honest, and hard-working man.  A great example to others, like me.  He was always so nice and easy to talk to.  I always enjoyed seeing him when I was back in Mobile.  I am just sorry that I wasn't able to spend more time wih him over the years.  My thoughts and prayers are with Aunt Betty and his family. Harlan was a very intelligent and kind man. I worked with him on a FEMA disaster at the Cedar Falls AFO in Iowa yet have never forgotten him because of his good character. He knew all the ins and out of insurance issues and was always so proud of his son whom I consistently heard about during our time together. He was practical, pragmatic, and always respectful of everyone he encountered. (This is how people should be, but Harlan actually was this kind of person.)
