Shirley Ann Outlaw Everett, 73, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018. Services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2018, 11:00am at Spring Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Bob Gladney officiating. Burial will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be between 5:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile, Alabama.
Mrs. Everett was born in Columbus, GA, to the late Alice Era French and Lee Imey Outlaw. She graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1962, the same year she received the honor of being crowned Miss Warner Robins. She went on to attain a bachelor’s degree, followed by a master’s degree in Business Logistics from Georgia College and State University. Mrs. Everett’s career began working with the GBI, but soon moved to 40+ years with the United States Air Force as a Civil Service Senior Executive, starting with her first position at Robins Air Force Base. While at Robins, she held multiple Senior Leadership positions in Electronic Warfare. She served as a mentor to all she came in contact with, helping some to achieve highest civilian levels. Mrs. Everett was promoted to work at Airforce Headquarters at the Pentagon, where she was a forward thinker and was instrumental in establishing integrated changes that are still in place to this day. In addition to her work at Robins Airforce Base and the Pentagon, she had a 10-year assignment at Wright Patterson Airforce Base in Fairborn, OH. She was the recipient of many local and Airforce level awards to include Exemplary Civilian Award, Meritorious Service Award, and the Airforce Civil Service Award. Alongside all of her accomplishments at work, Mrs. Everett was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and felt blessed to be able to teach the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Spring Hill Garden Club.
Mrs. Everett was preceded in death by husbands Odell M. Davis and H.L. Everett, and her brother, Phillip Dorsey Outlaw. She is survived by two children, Lisa Davis Howell (Chuck) of Statesboro, GA, and Richard Odell Davis of Mobile, AL, as well as three grandchildren, Charles Davis Howell of Nashville, TN, John Ellis Howell of Statesboro, GA, and Anna Lee Howell of Statesboro, GA, sister Cynthia Cameron of Fairborn, OH, and brother Jerry Outlaw of Sneads, FL. She is also survived by four step-daughters, Karen Drage(Wally), Joan Anderson(Ralph), Kym Hilsher(Russ), Jeana Noel(Bob), and six step-grandchildren, Shana Smith(Erin), Justin Drage(Becky), Hartley King, Everett Denney, Brad Hilsher, Leigh Ann Chatagnier(Canean), one great-grandson, Parks Chatagnier, as well as nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives, and friends.
