Sherryl Kay Allen, age 73, a native of Meridian, MS and a long-time resident of Saraland, AL passed away on Saturday, April 8 at a local hospital. Ms. Allen, as she was known, worked in the cafeteria at Baker High School for over 10 years. While at Baker she developed many friendships and always had encouraging words for all the students. She was dearly loved at Baker High School, and she always considered it a big part of her life. Ms. Allen loved Alabama Crimson Tide football more than anything, and she would make sure to tell you all about it. She knew every player and everything about the game. She is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Yow, and her father Bill Ingram and her brother Tommy Ingram. Ms. Allen is survived by her devoted son, Jimmie Allen Jr, her daughter Rebecca Pitts (Jacob) and her grandsons, Emory Boyington and Caleb Pitts. Sister Linda Crowson (Leslie) and her nephew Scott Ingram (Tracy) and her niece Mary Claire Stockett (Nick).
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery.
