Sharon Countryman resident of Mobile, Alabama departed this world for her Heavenly home on Sunday, August 14, 2022. She was born on January 4, 1967, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Murray and Diane Countryman. Sharon was preceded in death by her grandparents, Blythe and Metta White and Walter and Ruby Countryman.
A lifelong resident of Mobile, Sharon attended Murphy High School and graduated from Augusta Evans. While at Augusta Evans, Sharon began competing in gymnastics at the Special Olympics. During her competitive career, Sharon won 16 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 4 bronze medals at the State level. In 1991, Sharon represented the State of Alabama at the International Special Olympics where she earned 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals. After graduation, she worked at MARC Enterprises. Sharon was a long time member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Sharon is survived by her loving parents, Murray and Diane Countryman. She is also survived by her brother, David Michael Countryman (Michelle) and sister, Linda Diane Brill (Michael); her nephew, Andrew Michael Countryman; and nieces, Heather Nicole Ellington (Zach), Lauren Ivy Brill and Ashlyn Grace Brill also remain to cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held at Spring Hill Baptist Church on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery West.
