Sara Lou Easley Carpenter was welcomed into Heaven on December 4, 2013. She left this world surrounded by those who she loved and stepped into the company of loved ones who preceded her. A native of Jackson, Alabama, Sara was born on July 8, 1928 to William Bryant Easley and Lettie Sullivan Easley. The family moved to Mobile, where Sara was a graduate of Murphy High School and the Providence School of Nursing. After becoming a Registered Nurse, she later attended the University of Alabama where she completed her degree in Nursing Education in 1955. She returned to the Providence School of Nursing to teach obstetrics. In 1957 she married Ray Carpenter, and they remained happily married for more than 56 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother as well as a beloved and trusted friend. Sara was a born-again Christian and was dedicated to her church Kingswood United Methodist, where she served in numerous capacities through the years. She will be most remembered for her service as a choir member and a Sunday School teacher. She loved children and they loved her. Sara is survived by her husband, Ray Carpenter, of Mobile; a son, David B. (Angela) Carpenter, also of Mobile and three grandchildren, Sara Elaine Carpenter, William Ray Carpenter and David Lee Carpenter. She is also survived by two special nephews, John (Rosemarie) Carpenter of Mobile and Rodney Carpenter of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Vistation will be held at Radney Funeral Home Dauphin Street on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Kingswood United Methodist Church on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev Joseph Reams and Rev.
