Mr. Bowman was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Era. He worked for Southern Company Services in Birmingham, AL for 30 years and retired in 1986. He and his wife Pat enjoyed 20 years of travelling and camping. After that, he spent the next 15 years taking care of his wife who had Alzheimer’s. He was very caring and devoted to her up to the very last moment, sitting beside her, holding her hand and talking to her.
Sam enjoyed all sports, both actively and watching them. He especially loved golfing.
Sam’s biggest passion was serving God. He was a true witness right up to the end. At 91 he was still going to men’s prayer meeting at 6:30 a.m. then going to the pier witnessing with his dear friend Jim.
To know him was to love him. He will be missed by many.
