Samuel Wayne Boatman

Wayne was a member of Dayspring Baptist Church and an avid Alabama fan and a former baseball player for the Atlanta Braves. Wayne was a graduate of Murphy High School.

Preceded in death by his father, Roy O. Boatman (Barbara), mother Mary L. Harrison and stepfather, Harry Harrison.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Valerie Van Slyke Boatman, brothers Frankie (Ginny), Kenny (Joyce); sisters Marsha Boatman, Kim Spears, Dena Wright, Cheryl Travis and Melanie Pace, aunt Gladys Wolfenbarger, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Visitation will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Dayspring Baptist Church, located at 2200 Cody Rd., Mobile, AL., with services beginning at 3:00 p.m.
