Ruth Louise Posey Dobbs

Ruth was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. She and Hamp moved to Mississippi where they raised their family. After 42 years they returned to Mobile, Alabama. They built a house next to the oldest son, Ron Dobbs.

Ruth retired after 25 years from the City of Ocean Springs as Water Office Supervisor.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and sister, Corrie Bell Posey.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Hampton R. Dobbs; children, Hampton R. Dobbs, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama, Richard J, Dobbs (Jenny) of Santa Clarita, California and Deborah D. Bailey (Scott) of Cummings, Georgia She also had 4 grandchildren, David S. Bailey (Tessa), Tara L. Bailey, Krista M. Bailey and Olivia L. Dobbs.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Wilmer United Methodist Church, 13370 Avenue B. Wilmer, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to service time at 1:00 p.m. at the church, immediately following the service, she will be laid to rest in Pine Crest West Cemetery, Snow Road, Mobile, Alabama.
