Ruby Morrison Pierce –a 95 year-old native of Jacksonville, FL and resident of Mobile passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Mrs. Pierce was a graduate of Auburn University. She retired from the Mobile County School System after 30 years of service as civic/government teacher at Murphy High School. Mrs. Pierce was a longtime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edwin Morrison and Lula Maude Strickland Morrison, sister, Joyce Thompson; brother, Edwin Morrison; and husband, George Hampton Pierce. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her nephews, James Pierce (and family) and Robert Burkhalter (Karen), other relatives and friends. Private services will be held.
